A Day in Griz (2021)

Qrız village is an ancient settlement located in the mountainous region of Quba district, approximately 2,000 meters above sea level. The local people — the Griz — speak their unique Griz language and have preserved their ancient customs and traditions to this day. The village’s architecture is mainly constructed from stone and wood.

Qrız is renowned for its natural beauty, surrounded by mountain landscapes, waterfalls, and hiking trails. It mainly attracts eco-tourists and hiking enthusiasts. However, the road to the village is difficult and sometimes impassable, which complicates travel for both locals and visitors.

Despite all the challenges, Qrız village is considered one of Azerbaijan’s most original and culturally rich mountain settlements.
